On April 20, 2000, CadmiumCD was born. Back then we just did Conference Proceedings on CD, but since then we’ve grown our product line, brought it together under one fully-integrated EMS platform, and have served over 350 clients on 3,500+ projects.

In celebration of our 15 year anniversary, we decided to put together an infographic charting the course of our growth and highlighting what some of our favorite users and clients are saying. Take a look!
It all started with Proceedings on CD
Co-Founders Michelle and Peter Wyatt were Chemical Engineers in 2000. They had been going to conferences as attendees for some time. But they had a problem. They were collecting stacks of binders filled with proceedings. They thought there had to be a better way.
Pretty soon they started collecting Conference Proceedings and distributing them digitally on CD (The chemical element associated with the abbreviation CD is Cadmium, which is where the company’s name came from). Naturally, recording audio of speakers and pairing those recordings with presentation slides came next.
Once they realized planners needed a better way to collect all the data they wanted to distribute, a complete line of software began to take shape. The rest is history.

Our clients aren’t just customers
We still have clients from our first year in business working with us today. It’s been amazing having their support over the years and we couldn’t do it without them.
Many of our original team members — family members and friends — are still with us today as well. Though we’ve expanded tremendously, we still cultivate a family-like environment not only in our office, but also with our clients.
This is one of the main reasons we feel it’s important to have our first ever live users group meeting for our clients later this year. We can’t wait to have all those who have been so great to us over the years in our own space so that we can return the favor to them.

We take into consideration everyone involved
We started with a few simple products, but over the years we’ve realized that to make one stakeholder happy means making all stakeholders happy. That’s why we’ve kept all our products integrated and have worked hard to integrate with other vendors amicably.
That being said, we now have a complete platform that covers the entire conference experience. It’s been amazing hearing feedback from clients and working with them to understand their needs. Our products are amazing because of their efforts to help us constantly improve our platform.
