CadmiumCD has been developing innovative event management software since the year 2000. Let’s take a look back at how the company has grown since then.
April 20th, 2000. The new millennium parties were just beginning to die down, people were quickly forgetting about the Y2K bug, and Destiny’s Child’s ‘Say My Name’ was blaring on the radio. Somewhere half an hour northeast of Baltimore, Maryland, Michelle and Peter Wyatt were nailing their first hard-earned dollar to the wall of a basement office from a business venture they called CadmiumCD.
At that time, conference organizers would put together huge binders that attendees could purchase. Michelle and Pete were tired of lugging these binders home from every event and decided that, with the advent of digital technology, there was a better way.
Pete and Michelle wanted to solve the issues they experienced as conference attendees themselves. CadmiumCD was their way of creating a simple solution to a big problem: make meeting education something easy to take home.
So they began collecting conference proceedings from meeting organizers, burning them onto CD-ROMs, and distributing them to attendees. Things took off, and Pete and Michelle decided to leave their full-time jobs. They enlisted their friends and families (many of whom are still employed with CadmiumCD today), and took the bull by the horns.
A few years later and here we are. CadmiumCD is now a leader not only in distribution of on-demand content and enduring materials, but also in event technology and conference management software.
At the core, CadmiumCD has always wanted to maximize the ROI and educational value for both attendees, sponsors, and event managers. Nothing more and especially nothing less. We want every person involved to get the most out of each conference they attend or host.
Over the years we’ve seen plenty of competitors come and go. There are too many get-rich-quick software ‘gurus’ out there trying to fill the meetings industry niche.
We’ve never gotten wrapped up in that. Instead, our focus has always been building relationships with our clients and listening to exactly what it is both meeting organizers, sponsors, and attendees hope to get out of their conference experiences.
We’ve come a long way since the year 2000 and in that time we’ve made a big impact on the meetings industry. But we still have a lot of work to do.
CadmiumCD is still building the ultimate conference experience for before, during, and after every event.
Most importantly, we’re glad to have our client community along for the ride as part of our ever-growing family. We can’t wait to see where the our customers take us next.
Without our customers, we wouldn’t be half the company we are today. They drive every decision we make and we can’t thank them enough for that. It’s the greatest gift in the world.
So cut yourself a piece of cake, pop the top of that champagne bottle, and wish us a Happy Birthday while we blow out our candles.
